Interview with Yani Tseng - LPGA Tour Professional
Two weeks ago we had the pleasure of meeting Yani Tseng, an LPGA Tour Professional and former number one female golfer in the world. Yani was in the region for the Manulife LPGA Classic Golf Tournament at Grey Silo Golf Club in Waterloo. As Audi is one of her major sponsors, we were happy to provide her with a Q7 for the week of the event.
We were also extremely lucky to be given the opportunity for an interview with Yani. Watch the video below to find out which model Audi Yani drives at home, which one’s her absolute favourite and how her Audi endorsement began.
Yani Tseng started playing golf at the age of 6, and credits her parents and her coaches as the individuals who have influenced her career the most. She turned pro in January 2007, claimed her first LPGA Tour victory a year later at the LPGA Championship, and was also named the LPGA Tour Rookie of the Year in 2008. After winning 3 more major tournaments throughout the 2010 and 2011 golf seasons, she moved into the number 1 position in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings. Yani then went onto win the LPGA Championship again in 2011, became the youngest golfer, male or female, to win five major championships and also won the Tour Player of the Year for a second straight season. Yani is also proud of being the fastest player in LPGA history to cross the $2 million, $3 million, $4 million, $5 million, $6 million, $7 million and $8 million in career earnings. In 2012, Tseng was named one of Time Magazine’s 100 most influential people. She was given this honour not only in recognition of her astonishing achievements, but also for her “infectious smile and genuine enthusiasm” that has inspired many young people.
